Quartzite countertops in Framingham, MA

Natural stone harder than granite, with the soft veining of marble.

Quartzite is sandstone turned by heat and pressure into one of the hardest stones used for countertops. It carries the long, soft veins people love in marble, without marble's softness. It still needs sealing, and the slabs vary a lot, so seeing them in person matters.

Quartzite questions

Is quartzite the same as quartz?

No. Quartzite is a natural stone cut from the earth; quartz is engineered from crushed quartz and resin. Quartzite takes heat and sun; quartz does not like either.

Does quartzite need sealing?

Yes, like granite. How often depends on the slab, usually every year or two.

Why does quartzite vary so much in price?

Each quarry and each block is different, and the most sought-after white quartzites are scarce. Seeing the slabs side by side is the best way to choose.

Have a layout? We'll price it.

A sketch with sizes, a few photos or your contractor's plans, plus the stone you like, are enough for a first price.
